Okay... Perhaps the topic i have chosen to discuss is a bit different for a "gaming" community. Perhaps it isn't. In either case i pose this question to you: WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO? Why does Newnmproved scratch his ass and then smell his finger? Oh sorry, i mean scratch his nose. Is there something embedded deep in our subconscious that tells us to do exactly what people tell us not to do? Or is it just human nature? You will find more questions than answers from a person like me, because I truly believe that wonderment is the pinnacle of our mind's immense capacity. Sure it is nice to KNOW that you got the first 25 kill streak in MW2 for the clan, but if nobody else was playing would that even be possible? And for that matter, would you still be playing? That was probably a poor setup for my point, but it is this: Everyone wants to be an individual, have the "first ______," the "most ______ ," the "biggest _______," (okay the last blank is definitely penis ) but without knowing , we all seem to be slaves to one trend or another. Maybe it is just me, but it seems that every person i know can be painted with some sort of "broad stroke,"and I am no exception. This fact is both depressing and amazing. For instance my mother is the most intriguing person i know, yet still she could easily be categorized as an "extremely liberal tree hugging hippie bitch." We all have people we look up to and admire without realizing that we are exactly the same, not in a literal sense but philosophically. We all can be painted with some "broad stroke" even though society conditions us to believe that there is something wrong about this. Take a commercial i recently loathed for instance... "Be an individual" it said. Really!?!?!? If i am an individual would that not make me the only, or at least one of few people buying your shit? Good advertising. Really it is, because they know that society's desire to be an individual is so great that we will believe (in some sense) that their product gets us closer to obtaining that individuality. But is it even possible? I think that it is not, but hell im just some gamer with admin rights to a site that allows me to publish an article such as this so, WHAT DO I KNOW? But if it is not our desire for "the best and only" that drives us onward in our pursuit of whatever the fuck, then what is it? Why do we cling to those who build us up just to bring us down? Why are we in constant pursuit of unattainable perfection? Why do we tend to lust more than we love? Why do we DO? There it is... Answer if you DARE! Lmao... This article reads like a rant because I intended for it to. The truth is my Ex-Girlfriend is in an abusive relationship that she wont get out of and nobody can convince her to. That got me thinking...... WHY? Why stick around for a love that is given with the back of a hand? Why cling to a love who's flame has long been extinguished (ME.) WHY DO WE DO? Maybe the more important and relevant question is HOW DO WE DO IT? PEACE - MATH

Did I jump the gun??? Or am I plain paranoid???
On my 21st birthday I got my first video game system since the Playstation 2... the everso popular Nintendo Wii. It was also my very first Nintendo system ever. Prior to that day, I had been researching online and with friends over what next generation system I should pick up. I was very skeptical and critical, and equipped with a tight budget, feared the monstrosity of expenses that could pile up from extra controllers to games and other featurettes.
The Nintendo at the time was the fastest selling and the leader of the market. The Xbox 360 was comfortably in second place while the Playstation 3 lagged behind (although it was at this time announced that Blu-ray would be the official next generation media format for HD and PS3 sales had sharply spiked... as well my interest). I was also interested in the fact that PS3 and the 360 generated HD quality screens whereas the Wii was touted as a beefed up Gamecube.
Graphics are very important in the enjoyment of the game, but I value gameplay and "fun" level much higher than graphics. One day my friend happened to borrow a Wii and the Wii Fit and Balance Board set from another friend. I finally got my first indepth look at the system, and my test drive lasted nearly the entire evening for several hours. It was amazingly fun. No matter how simple Wii Sports is, its simplicity invaluably adds charm and replay value. I was sold. The Wii was for me.
I got the whole shabang. Extra controllers, Wii Balance Board, top rated games (Resident Evil 4, Mario Kart Wii, Smash Bros Brawl, Madden 08, Medal of Honor, Wii Resort), etc. ***By the way, if you didn't know, the Wii may be the first and the best party-and-drunk-friendly system ever. Instead of button mashing all you have to do is flail your arm around just like before passing out and trying to balance yourself- do that and your gold: that motion there is a perfect strike in Wii Bowling >_<***
A year and a half later I feel dissatisfied. The system is much more enjoyable in groups, and when I'm alone I hardly feel like playing the Wii. The system as a result barely gets used unless I have people over. While on most systems as they age the games get progressively better, the Wii seems to have hit the wall in any progression at all. It's even reflected in the sales where recently the sales have stagnated and even dropped in certain regions, whereas the Playstation 3 nearly quadrupled the 360 in sales over the past Thanksgiving Day sales.
The PS3 games seem to be progressively getting better, and with multiple HD televisions in my home I began to feel I may have made the wrong decision. I feel like I was a victim of the hype; a victim of a bandwagon.
Nahhh... I love my Wii. It's the most fun I've had with games in a while. Nintendo makes it fun. My rating? Well I don't have extensive experience with the Xbox 360 or the PS3 to compare the Wii with, but I fully support and encourage those who can and are looking for a good system to take a chance on the Wii.
I'll use this article also as a method of introducing the next phase in article content management. While I will shell out the random news reports on the website, news reports on relevant games, and funny blog-style reports such as this one or the "Christmas Bug" or "Gaming Re-focus", I'll be adding reviews also with a rating system equipped. Of course, to make an extensive review site we need experienced and diversified writers to write for us. For example, I'm equipped as of now to write dozens of articles regarding the Wii. We also need writers for the other systems as well as PC and PC hardware.
Give us a shout if you feel you're upto it! |

New games. New website. New forums. New look. New... Pron. When eAu first began there was an air of electricity, excitement, that blanketed our arrival on to the scene as a united gaming community. It was equally important and comforting that we ol' gaming pals could have something as tangible as eAu become our home. We were undying in our passion for video games and communion.
We vowed in the beginning to extend eAu beyond the frontier; to progress to a level never seen before. The servers were unique and popular. The forums were active and friendly. Our clan was active and friendly. Our new website... well... it existed- sort of.
As we aged, as the clan aged, things began to change. The electricity had vanished to the point we were searching for flint and stone to start even the smallest of candles. The server began to fall under constant attacks. The clan began to suffer from internal erosion. Things were falling apart. The clan that had been so popular before with many incoming friends and join requests, seemed to be clamoring for life support. We began active crusades to recruit members only to find they came for a short time. Beyond the pretty glitter and glamor remained a clan that even new members could discern as ununited.
It seemed what we needed were a few serious shake ups. One after another, as terrible things continued to occur on the forums and on the servers, we decided to throw away our shackles and to look for an escape route. For the first time in a long time our clan came together united and vowed again to move forward. We chose new games to call home. We decided to increase our gaming community activity and participation. We decided to create that same inviting and friendly home when we first started the clan.
The new website is the new base, the fortress, the frat house. Up until now the website and the forums, our two off server contact centers, remained as separate entities. In the end the forums remained the active portion whereas while the website existed, it existed only in vain. Nobody visited nor cared to visit. Who would when nobody cared to work on the website nor cared to visit it from our own clan? We decided to streamline our efforts. The website, the forums, the social network, our games and applications (such as Steam), needed to be integrated into one. Separately, they are divided and weak, but together as they come together they build a strong network.
Our new years resolution is to re-create eAu. To streamline eAu into the new age and while maintaining our friendly and inviting approach to gaming we wished to create a place for enhanced socializing and interactive experience. We want an active community that can have fun and be secure at eAu. No longer will we be half-assed. We got our full-asses on this time.
